アイスランド大使館は、ユニークな映画祭である「みゆき野映画祭in斑尾～日本・北欧国際短編映画祭～」の素晴らしい上映作品に温かく祝意を表します。これらの映画と映画制作者は、興味深い方法で芸術性と職人技の卓越性を示しています。映画祭は、映画芸術作品を紹介し、観客からフィードバックを得るとともに、その普及に貢献する重要な舞台です。映画祭は、自分たちの社会とはかけ離れた社会や出来事を知る窓を開き、それらへの敬意と理解を促します。
私たちは、二極化と緊張に満ちた困難な時代に生きています。映画は、偏見をなくし、社会と文化の間で寛容と相互理解を得るための優れたツールなのです。
私は、この映画祭でアイスランドの多様な短編映画2本をセレクトした主催者を称賛したいと思います。
一方は、非常に独創的な前衛的不条理短編映画『魔女』で、奇妙な魔女たちが子供の家に侵入してくるという内容です。もうひとつは、アイスランドの女性の為の家庭内暴力避難所が制作した、家庭内暴力の許し難さについての子供向け教育映画です。
映画祭が成功し、観客の皆様が楽しい時間を過ごすことを祈っています。
The Embassy of Iceland warmly congratulates the organizers of the unique Miyukino Snow-theater International Film Festival for their excellent selection of films to be shown this year. These films and filmmakers exhibit excellence in artistry and craftsmanship in interesting ways. Film festivals are indeed an important platform to showcase works of cinematic art and help with its outreach as well as getting feedback from audiences. They open a window into societies and events that may be far and different from ours and thus promote respect and understanding.
We live in troubled times of polarization and tension. Cinema is an excellent tool to break down prejudices, encourage tolerance and mutual understandings between and within societies and cultures.
I would like to commend the organizers for having chosen two diverse Icelandic short films to be shown at the festival.
On one hand you will see the highly original avant-garde absurd short film, Hex, where a child‘s home is invaded by bimbo-looking witches. On the other, an educational film for children on the unacceptability of domestic violence, made by the Women‘s Shelter in Iceland.
I wish you every success with your film festival and the audience a pleasant and enjoyable experience.
